Here’s to great women.

As a female founded company we love to celebrate International Women’s Day. We have never been prouder to see our fellow females taking out great achievements across the globe like the appointment of Kamala Harris, USA’s first woman of colour as Vice President. But importantly here at home where all four Australian of the year awards were handed out to women at this year’s ceremony Grace Tam, Dr Miriam Rose Ungumerr-Baumann, Isobel Marshall and Rosemary Karuiki received four of Australia’s highest achievements.

So we thought what better time then International Women’s Day to pay homage to some of the awesome women who have come into our lives as clients and a few that just knock our socks off.

“We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge.” - International Women’s Day.

One of Australia’s funniest comedians. You may recognise her for her hilarious #celestechallengeaccepted instagram content, imitating the life of the rich and famous in her own unique way. OR you may remember her for raising a casual $51 MILLION for the Australian Bushfires in 2019/2020.

Celeste is no stranger to going viral online, however it’s her ability to use it for good that we admire most. Whether it be raising money for important causes, spreading messaging about body positivity and acceptance, or just some midweek LOL moments on instagram, we love her for being HER (and eating twisties).

A female Aussie icon like no other; Cathy Freeman. The Olympic Gold medalist that changed the game for Indigenous Australians not only in sport, but in the Australian community as a whole.

In addition to being a champion on the track and a true icon for Indigenous representation in Australia, Cathy founded her own charity that supports Indigenous Australian children through their education and schooling. The Cathy Freeman Foundation aims to empower the future generations of Indigenous communities to have skills and resources to get the best education possible, ensuring that these children have equal opportunities to reach their full potential. Can she really get any better?

We are proud to call Cathy Freeman a client, we have created some beautiful merch for the Cathy Freeman Foundation.

Mum, Author, Blogger, Cosmetics Entrepreneur & Legend Zoe Foster Blake; the total girl boss package we love.

Whether she’s helped you with your skin concerns or helped you through a tough breakup with some A-Class advice from her books, Zoe is like the ultimate back-up Mum to take care of us all.

Her Go-To Skincare range launched in 2014 and has made her a household name for many skincare fiends and has placed her on the AFR Young Rich List. Her success as a Girl Boss is truly inspiring for so many young Aussie girls out there. So much to admire!

Queen of the Jungle and Queen of our hearts. There are many reasons to love Abbie, but for us, we adore her for being unapologetically herself and standing up for all things girl power.

Being most known for her appearances on reality TV, Abbie has become a social media success story through not only her relatability, but also for her stance on issues such as gender double standards and female empowerment, body image and self acceptance, as well as mental health advocacy. She inspires so many young women in Australia, teaching them to stand up for what they believe in and feel confident in their individuality. Battling snake bites and a helmet full of insects, Abbie won “I’m A Celebrity” and the ability to donate $100,000 to her chosen charity of Dementia Australia in honour of her Grandmother. A force to be reckoned with and an ultimate inspiration for young women everywhere. We have loved working with Abbie as a client.

Taking “Girl Boss” to the next level (even if she is just Winging It), is the one and only Emma Isaacs.

Several years ago, Emma took over Business Chicks; a community that is all about women (and some men) lifting each other up and supporting each other in their business endeavours and successes. It’s a community that is all for female empowerment and ensuring females are represented in the corporate and business world.

In 2018, her book “Winging It” was published, detailing her experiences of pretty much winging it in both work and life and still managing to succeed in a multitude of ways. She is an inspiration to so many women globally, spreading the message that young girls and women really can do anything they set their minds too, even if they just wing it.

We are proud to have worked with Business Chicks on their merch for the past few years.

The Mother’s Day Classic has become an iconic event hosted in Australia for the past 23 years to fundraise and campaign for Breast Cancer awareness and research.

In 1998, Lousie Davidosn and Mavis Robertson recognised an increase in women accessing death and disability benefits through their work at Women in Super. Inspired by a fun run event Mavis had witnessed overseas, together with Louise and the support of WIS, they founded the Mother’s Day Classic.

Over 23 years, the MDC has raised an outstanding $37.95 million for breast cancer research that has ultimately saved countless lives. These heroes deserve every credit.

MDC joining the Merchgirls client list in 2020 was a huge honour for us and what a fabulous client they have been to work with.

And here they are; Hannah and Pippa, the fun-loving, ambitious founders of Merchgirls. Fondly likened to the Ab Fab duo, Eddie and Patsy, you will often find them rocking up to the office twinning in matching outfits.

And when they are not dressing up in head to toe merch during zoom calls or running late for school pick-ups because they have lost themselves in a new design or planning meeting, you can find them changing the merch world one well designed tote bag at a time and having a whole lot of fun running a company powered by a talented team of amazing women. They pour unstoppable passion into their designs, and create and deliver products that can really make a difference to the visibility and confidence of the bands they work with.

Thank you to the Merchgirls lovely clients for continuing to support this female- led business and embracing IWD.
