Say hello to Amie…

What is your role at Merchgirls?
Creating merch magic as an account manager.

So, welcome to Merchgirls! Tell us a bit about your background and what led you to where you are today.
I have always loved design, I dabbled in graphic design and fashion design when I was younger. I started out in print media, then was thrown into the marketing and promo industry and have never looked back.

You have extensive experience in merch…why do you love this industry so much?
Being a creative person, I love being able to bring custom concepts to life. It's so special to be able to see people wearing or using the merch I helped create and it's such a buzz to see it be successful for your client.

What has been your highlight in your career to date?
I would say working with some of Australia’s biggest brands––ones that I never thought I'd be able to say we did their merch!

What drew you to wanting to work with Merchgirls?
The whole Merchgirls vibe. I loved the creativity and custom options for merch, I think I really wanted to step out of the same products and be able to offer my clients something one-off and twice as nice!

In your experience, why is merch such an amazing marketing tool?
I think merchandise is so underrated! People normally think of it at the last minute but when done properly it can be the most amazing tool you have. Think about it this way, merchandise and promo products have a bigger reach than TV advertising. The good old t-shirt can have something like 6400 impressions in its lifetime. That's 6400 people seeing your brand and learning about your brand. You can get real time success with the right merch (just look at McDonalds merch or even the recent Vegemite merch for dogs!), people will rep the brands they love!

So, what’s your favourite merch product?
Ooo good question... I would say the soccacino, cute and practical.

Who would be your dream client to work with?
This is a hard one, I have so many but I think Disney tops that list. They have so many fun and crazy characters and the graphics are fun and bright––my mind is already going crazy with ideas!
